Jaclyn Fortini
Ms. Fortini concentrates her work on women’s rights litigation, and brings significant litigation and women’s advocacy experience to Hale & Monico. She began her career in asylum law, working to provide safe haven for women victims of domestic, gang, and government violence. As a part of this work, she acted as the Head of Litigation, and litigated dozens of cases in U.S. federal courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Ms. Fortini has worked on civil litigation cases in the U.S. seeking to hold large corporations and local governments liable for sexual assault by their agents and employees. She also worked on sexual violence cases in the Hague, Netherlands. Most recently, Ms. Fortini gained asylum for an Afghan breakdancer being targeted by the Taliban for being a woman dancing outside the home.
