At Hale & Monico, Mr. Zecchin concentrates his practice in civil rights and tort litigation. Prior to joining Hale & Monico, Mr. Zecchin served in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for over 15 years. Mr. Zecchin began as a prosecutor in the Criminal Division, where he prosecuted traffic and narcotics offenses and was in the Felony Review Unit.

In 2010, Mr. Zecchin began his career in civil litigation in the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office Civil Actions Bureau, where he ultimately served as the Supervisor of the Civil Rights/Torts Litigation Section. His section defended Cook County, the Cook County Sheriff’s Office, and their employees in civil rights and tort litigation in federal and state court. In addition to supervising up to 19 attorneys, Mr. Zecchin has significant litigation experience. He has twice argued before the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, has been lead counsel for Cook County and the Cook County Sheriff’s Office in several class action lawsuits and has extensive motion practice. Over the course of his career at the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Mr. Zecchin tried over 100 bench trials and over 20 jury trials in federal and state court.

Mr. Zecchin also served as Counsel to Illinois Attorney General James E. Ryan.
