Ms. Boudreaux concentrates her practice in civil rights litigation, with significant trial experience in both State and Federal Court.  Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Boudreaux was a Chief Assistant Corporation Counsel for the City of Chicago, Department of Law, where she specialized in defending civil rights cases brought against the City of Chicago and Chicago police officers.  Prior to that, she was hand-selected by the City of Chicago to serve as one of 8 attorneys in an elite practice group called the Special Litigation Unit, which handled the most complex police cases for the City of Chicago.

Ms. Boudreaux also has extensive experience in tort litigation and has tried a number of personal injury cases in addition to civil rights cases.  To date, Ms. Boudreaux has tried over 50 jury trials to verdict.

Notable Defense Verdicts

$16M Potential Liability

We successfully defended a Chicago police officer sued for wrongful death stemming from a car chase. A woman was ejected from her vehicle and killed after being struck by another driver who claimed he was being improperly chased by the defendant police officer. After a jury trial in Cook County state court, the plaintiffs’ attorney asked the jury to award $16M in damages. The jury returned a defense verdict in favor of the Chicago police officer.

$7M Potential Liability

We successfully defended a Chicago police officer in a case involving a fatal police shooting. After a jury trial in Cook County state court, the plaintiff’s attorney asked the jury to award $7M in damages. The jury returned a defense verdict in favor of the Chicago police officer.

$4.9M Potential Liability

We successfully defended a Chicago police officer who was sued after he fatally shot a man who attacked him with a knife on the rooftop of an apartment building. After a jury trial in the Northern District of Illinois, the plaintiff’s attorney asked the jury to award $4.9M in damages. The jury returned a verdict in favor of the Chicago police officer.
