Sexual Assault Victim

Our client was a young woman who was in custody at the Franklin County Jail on a drug charge. She was scheduled to be transported to another correctional facility. During the transport, the correctional officer assigned to the vehicle sexually assaulted our client at gunpoint. Prior to Hale & Monico being retained as the plaintiff’s attorneys, the defense offered to settle the case for $75,000. Once  hired to represent the victim, Attorney Shawn Barnett rejected that settlement offer and aggressively litigated the case.
