Excessive Force

Our client was an unarmed man who was shot by a police officer as he was attempting to surrender. Attorneys Shawn Barnett and Jason Marx successfully argued to the jury that the shooting was unjustified and excessive. Persuaded by their argument, the federal jury rejected the defendant officer’s claim that he believed the firm’s client had a weapon and returned a verdict in our client’s favor after only two hours of deliberation.
